Lawn Care in Bear Lake, MI

Bear Lake is where Up North Lawn Co. is based — it's the spine of our Monday route. Most weeks we're working the streets around the lake, the cottages along Lakeshore Drive, and the properties around the Dayton Bear Lake Outing Club before lunch.

Most of the properties we mow here are seasonal cottages and second homes — the kind of lake-frontage parcels where the lawn slopes to the water, the trees drop more than their share of needles, and the owner is often hundreds of miles away. The work we do in Bear Lake leans heavily toward Cottage Care: weekly mow, photo by Friday at noon, eyes on the property when no one else is there.

Why we serve Bear Lake

  • We're on the lake's Monday route

Bear Lake gets the first day of our week. If you're on the loop, you know what day to expect us, and you're not the last property of a tired Friday route.

  • We know the lake-effect rain pattern

Bear Lake gets its own micro-weather thanks to Lake Michigan a few miles west. We've learned which weeks to push the route, which weeks to come early, and what 'wet' looks like before it ruts a lake-frontage lawn.

  • Cottage Care is built for owners like you

Most Bear Lake properties we touch are second homes. Cottage Care is the service we built for absentee owners — Friday turnover, photo confirmation, monthly flat billing. It's the same service you'd want if you owned a cottage two states away.

Frequently asked

  • How quickly can you start service in Bear Lake?

Bear Lake is our most flexible service area because we're on the route every Monday. Most new customers get their first mow within a week of signing up — sometimes the same week if the request comes in by Sunday.

  • Do you serve the East Bear Lake side?

Yes. The full lake and the surrounding township-road properties are all on the route.

  • What about properties on the seasonal dirt roads?

We serve them, but we mention a small surcharge for properties on dirt that hold water — equipment wear adds up. We'd rather charge $5 more per visit than be the lawn guy who quit in July.

  • Do you handle the lake-frontage slope?

Most of it, yes. We bring a smaller mower for the steepest sections. Anything beyond about a 25-degree slope to the water we'd rather handle by hand than risk a rutted lawn or worse.
